Paul, I knew you were playing a bit but man, you've been getting into it, tight, always room for more Diablo knowledge. hmm.... I might need to look into some sorceress skill layouts.

Ben - I tihnk that a sorc or druid would be good... never much been a fan of a druid myself... but to each their own. If you do a meteor / frozen orb sorc - those pack some punch. Meteor gets crazy high pretty fast - and a good fireball backs it up. with enough FCR you can spam those and do 1.5k-2k pretty easy. Your meteor hits 5-6k too... Pure fire is huge damage- but you do run into more immunes. But if Molson goes cold - you'll be able to clear everything that isn't fire immune in a quick hurry. I have made a pure light sorc, (terrible to solo with) and she kicks some ass. Lightning is variable, but it averages out because you can cast pretty fast. It's also hard to argue with 30K max damage. There is a build for a tri-element sorc which sounds pretty fun, needs some gear to make her competitve as far as damage with a more common build though. Tri-Element Sorc www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/file/370600/42873Chain Lighning / Orb sorc www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/file/370600/40047Ever powerful and popular "Meteorb" www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/file/370600/33207Meteorb with better explanations forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=254070

Molson - Yea - I don't even want to tell you how many lvl 85 plus chars I have on ladder right now.... (yes- it's probably more than 8...) Here is the guide I followed for making my blizz sorc: www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/file/370600/39407I think it is a pretty good one. I think that mine has something like +7 to all skills - and various other stuff on equipment - but even naked they do pretty well. Good for crowd control, and also very well suited to magic finding runs... Also potentially handy- skill calculator.. It is for 1.10 - so not everything may jive exactly - but it helps get an idea of how things might go for variations on a build. www.d2items.com/skills.php

Molson suggested we get on voice chat- which would be fun. I've got skype installed - we can switch to vent if that's better for everyone. I think it's easier on system requirements, but crappier quality with a bit more delay. With skype at idle in the tray it's using up 75mb of memory.. anyone have experience with vent?

I've been using Vent and Team Speak for FFXI. Both seem to be effective enough for the purpose of communication and/or the occasional Top Gun Theme to get everyone pumped. Anywho, just got your email Paul I haven't touched Diablo II in ages so is there a particular class you want me to play as?

Hey Paul,
I am still debating between sorceress and druid, but after looking into fire vs light, I think fire is the best way to go.
Now I am looking at a shape shifting druid with a werebear specialization and possibly a summoned bear as well. I am going to do some research, but I will probably start with a fire sorceress for a few levels, then play a druid and see which one I like better.

Any real difference between vent and teamspeak? It would be nice if there wasn't much lag - as we might have quite a few people chatting at once.. And diablo isn't too demanding on any of our systems (I don't think...) Piratebob - as far as class... its pretty wide open. So far we have a poison necro, cold sorc, avenger pally, and ben's fire sorc. I think that given those... we might be a bit light on physical damage and tanking - but chances are our combined damage output and various elemental will roll through most things- plus mercs and various sumons can fill in for that. Play whichever build seems most fun.. You can make diablo start in windowed mode by modifying the shortcut to the exe, and adding the -w command. Target: "C:\Program Files\Diablo II\Diablo II.exe" -w As far as I know there is no resolution increasing mod that doesn't put you in danger of getting some sort of ban... temp ip, or cd key ban... I'll check in around 11 also to see what's going on... what sort of assassin are you making? Ben - Fire sounds good - lots of consistent damage. I'm sure whatever bulid you're using mentions this... but I've found that teleport and static field are worth adding to any sorc - 1 point will do for each - but very handy to have. That druid sounds good too - that was a build i was looking into earlier today.

yeah, sorry. I guess it was more like 2:30 >.< I guess I'll stick with StabbyMcFearson and read up on what kind of Assassin I'll try to be... god damn this game is way the hell more in depth than I thought it would be As far as Ventrilo or TeamSpeak goes, I don't think it matters too much. Vent seems takes up a bit more resources and offers a few more features. Teamspeak has been lagging out lately in FFXI, though I think that's more of an issue with the person's computer that's hosting the server. Speaking of which, the internet at our house likes to lag-out every so often, so we may not be the best choice for the server.

We used skype last night for a 3 way chat - that worked well. Guess we'll have to see how it does with more people on. Anyone have time to play some tonight? (sunday) I think that almost everything to know about the game has been figured out by very very dedicated nerds... so yea - lots of info out there.
If we could find some day that worked well for everyone... we could setup a weekly time. Some people have their weekly poker game... others... weekly diablo..

I am free in the evenings from about 8 pm on also. I'm also free for all the time on weekends... For the next few months, mon, tues, and wed nights are not good for me.. other than that the rest of the week is open for me.

RyanO, Stew and I had a good time running around last night, missed everyone else, oh well, we're all getting close on the level 20 mark, but even given the varied levels we've got, we're each going to have about 4 or 5 characters out of all of this. Fun fun. I might be up for something tonight, think I can get the time, about 9:30 on is the usual,
DONT KILL DURIEL WITHOUT ME
