Right, so I'm starting to get weirded out with this whole being an adult thing, specifically this everyone around me is married bit. Nothing to do with current friends who are/will be married, but definitely I am starting to feel like every lead actress in the beginning of every romantic comedy ever made .
Everyone at my work is married. Well, the young ones, who look like they are my age, are all married, quite a few with children. All the older people are divorced, most with children, and some with 2nd spouses or whatever. Almost every conversation around me is about children or family, and some of these people are our age. This one new girl, looks like she's my age, totally married with TWO children! Goo!
And now I learn Phil Hickhok is getting married! Will it never end?!??!?!!!??!!!??!!??!!?

Yeah, I know how that feels. What's with this whole family/procreation business? Since when did everyone have to get hitched?

um...in my defense.....who am i kidding, i have no defense. Sarah, don't let this force of "growing up" get you down. have you ever let "the man" tell you what to wear? NO! and you come up with some of the most FANTASTIC outfits known to man. no lie! i got to see them for a year, and was ALWAYS amazed. am i going to "grow up?" when i get married? or will anyone really have to grow up? HELL NO!!!! i think this whole notion of growing up is skewed in our eyes. we have already grown up. it has happened, but we don;t realize it because it is not what the world has "defined" as growing up. i know plenty of people at my school, much older then me, who have no desire to wed, and procreate, and on the flip side, ones that are younger can't wait. i know people 40-somethings that love cartoons, and will quote 'Family Guy' and 'Team America' in class with me (my partner and i for my Meridians and Points Lab Final were both singing 'I'm so Ronery' from Team America during the final, and he is like 45), whereas my fiance (sorry) doesn't like cartoons at all. This whole idea of growing up is all in our heads. sure we grow up, but there are no set guidelines. there is no 'judge' sitting on some high mountain saying "alright, you like vegetables, the Nightly News, Marriage, and Kids. There! you are 'Grown Up'" that's just bullshit. we grow up by learning, by experiencing life (+20xp! huzzah!) and expanding our minds. so don't let pressures force you to grow up to someone else's standards. Grow up your own way! ...and farting jokes will always be funny
