this also happens with alkasetzler tablets. And Altoids!
When I was in High School a friend of mine decided to eat 20 altoids at once. She started screaming! My mouth is on fire! So I handed her my sprite to drink. It was vermy amusing to say the least.

haha, the Altoids bit sounds similar to the pop rocks urban legend, though without the exploding death interestingly, pop in pop rocks is due to bubbles of pressurized CO2: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pop_Rocks
