Hey I was wondering if anyone else here saw the entire samurai champloo series? What did you think of it?
I thought it was a little slow starting out, not from an action sense, but plot and character development. Near the third or fourth episode I felt more of a personal stake in the characters and their success.
I also enjoyed the modern artistic depictions that came across such as using hip hop and graffiti in a time when neither existed. It seemed a bit fresh to me unlike any anime I have seen. Of course there is nothing wrong with anime's being true to their time and place, but this particular departure from the norm was nice.
In any case, I liked it and was wondering if anyone else had any thoughts.

...haven't seen, though I did see an episode of "Flight of the Conchords" funny, weird but funny.

I haven't got any of Champloo, been busy watching all my other anime . I have heard good things about it but that was from people that only know anime from the cartoon network. But I will check it out cause I always enjoy new anime.
