Perhaps you should become more easily amused. That's how I survive.

Actually, I do have a VERY good idea considering that the last temp job I had I spent 2 days at a desk with a phone that rang maybe an average of 10 times an hour, and no computer. So I spent most of that job reading. The one before that was 4 days of answering a phone that rang maybe 5 or 6 times all day in an almost-empty office. There I had internet access, but still was relatively bored most of the time. Hope your job keeps you busier than that!

If this turns into a game of "Well MY job is even MORE boring," I think I shall find the nearest lampshade, rip it off, and shove it down the throat of the next person I see. Which of course means that it is GUARANTEED to become just that. I'm going to go get my lampshade.

No, my job is actually pretty cool. I enjoy it. Then again, I'm a nerd. I was just noting that it was beginning to look like a game of 1-up, which just gets tedious. So, I decided to do something more interesting, like grab a lampshade and stuff it down the throat of the first person I see. Which I did. Here's the lampshade: And here's the end result: Turns out lampshades don't fit too well in the asophygus, so I had to settle for just slamming it down forcefully on the head of some hobo I met in our office building.

*rolls eyes*...I wasn't one-upping, I was commisserating. That's different. Anyway, it loos like you didn't slam that lampshade down quite forcefully enough to make your point...the guy's still smiling.

If you look closely, that's not so much a smile of "I'm happy" as a smile of "I'm mildly uncomfortable," which was of course my goal all along. And you would be surprised how quickly "commiserating" can turn into "1-up."
